Recapping outdoor ad excellence in the past year, Leo Burnett Toronto and BBDO New York won top honors at the Outdoor Advertising Association of America's Obie Awards.

The James Ready "Share our Billboard" campaign from Leo Burnett, Toronto and BBDO, New York outdoor for The Economist both took home best in show. This is the third consecutive best in show for BBDO New York, which won for both HBO Voyeurand BBC Cables last year.

Including the nine Obie awards, best in show and international honors (see below for a gallery of winners), Leo Burnett and BBDO were the only two networks to receive multiple awards, with 5 and 4 respectively. Mark Tutssel, chief creative officer for Leo Burnett Worldwide, was the awards' chief judge.

TBWA/Chiat/Day's body of outdoor work for Absolut was inducted into the Obie Hall of Fame, while international honors went to Leo Burnett GmbH for Tide "Clothesline."

I wish I could read some of these (SF Zoo/Fisher Price, Tide) because I have no idea what's going on. The "Info" bar takes you to nothing. Other than that - McDonald's Egg: seems awesome if it's what I think it is (egg cracks opens at daybreak). MacBook Air: Eh, it's smart but not blowing me away. Maker's Mark: thought I had seen it 1 million times before until I read the line "You wish." That not only saved it but made it great. Absolut: Didn't they do this like 5 years ago? McDonald's Coffee: C'mon. Really? Cup o' Noodle owned Times Square with the same gag for decades. Not fresh... stale. Shiner: Damn that's a nice way to look at something like pee. Well done. Gillette Zamboni: I wanna hate the done-to-death-oversized-product, but this makes a great point. Maybe the best a zamboni can get.
