Martin Agency, Tool Win Emmy For Clouds Over Cuba

Clouds over Cuba, The Martin Agency's interactive film about the Cuban missile crisis for the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, has been awarded an Emmy at the Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards.
The two-hour project, directed by Erich Joiner and Ben Tricklebank at Tool, won the award in the New Approaches: Documentaries category, beating off competition from nominees including CNN and The New York Times.
Clouds over Cuba included a documentary film and accessible expert commentaries from historian Sheldon M. Stern, Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev's son, Sergei, professor Timothy McKeown and author Eric G. Swedin.
The campaign has already done well on the awards circuit this year and has earned 11 Cannes Lions, a D&AD Yellow Pencil, five One Show pencils and the AICP Next award.
The Emmys were announced last night at a ceremony at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, located in the Time Warner Center in New York City
