Animal Logic has finalized a deal to buy the business assets of Sydney based studio FUEL VFX which recently went into voluntary administration. Animal Logic has formed a new company, Animal Logic Fuel, which will trade as Fuel VFX out of the Trocadero building in Newtown, Sydney. The five original founders of Fuel VFX, Jason Bath, Paul Butterworth, Andrew Hellen, Simon Maddison and Dave Morley, will work all aspects of the new business while Animal Logic will merge its advertising and short form VFX post-production services under the one roof by the end of this year.

London production company 2AM has signed director Daniel Gordon to its roster. Gordon's work includes documentary "Victoria Pendleton: Cycling's Golden Girl," screened as part of the BBC's build up to the 2012 Olympics. His latest film "9.79*" recently premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and investigates the controversial 1988 Seoul Olympics men's 100m final, won by Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson.
