Sony and W+K Tokyo look into the face of gaming.

Published: Aug 26, 2009
This week, we've got a new PS3 campaign out of Wieden Tokyo for Sony that uses gamers' faces to promote the inherent benefits of gaming. Sony has recruited well-known Japanese actors and musicians to show their "Playfaces" and is planning to photograph regular gamers playing PS3 titles in Tokyo and Osaka and have users vote for their favorites on the campaign website.

But there's some controversy brewing, as independent artist Phil Toledano did something very similar back in 2002. What do you guys think? A great way to promote the gaming platform or an unoriginal celebration of people at their couch-bound, mouth-breathing worst? As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

the idea was much stronger when used in the Canne winning sex toy to ads where the people took shots of their actual climax faces.
