Sue Lee has moved from The Mill to Stardust, where as executive producer, she will be relaunching the company's New York operations. At the Mill, she served as EP heading up its design/animation content department. Prior to that, she worked with Stardust's Dexton Deboree at The Ebeling Group, where she led and managed design and animation studios including MK12 (USA), Caviar (Tokyo), Tennant (South Africa), Studio AKA (UK), Boolab (Spain), Lobo (Brazil), and XYZ (Australia). She has produced work including the main title sequence for Bond film "Quantum of Solace" and spots for brands including AT&T
Third Street Mining Company (3MC) has signed Sinuhe Xavier for exclusive North American commercial representation. Formerly a pro ski mountaineer for The North Face, Xavier later became a senior photographer at Overland Journal and then filmed creative content for Danny Boyle's 127 Hours
. He is also collaborating with Boyle on his most recent film, Trance
, as creative director for interactive content. The project launches at SXSW 2013.
Passport Films has added Dutch director Job van As to its roster for US representation. He has directed more than 100 commercials, both national and international, for such clients as Nestle
, Knorr, Schwartz, Cesar and Optimel, and has been nominated for awards both at Cannes and at the Dutch audience awards (Golden Loekie). He has also produced documentaries for National Geographic and Discovery Channel, and earlier in his career worked as a location manager, producer and assistant director.
Former Stardust EP Paul Abatemarco, who most recently headed up MPC Creative's U.S. division, has joined Foundation Content as executive producer. Abatemarco, who has over 13 years of experience in the live action, VFX, and motion graphics world, will be charged with developing and growing Foundation's new roster of directors. VP of brand strategy/production Evan Cohen and senior producer Stacy Paris will both now report directly to him.
Envision Media Arts (EMA) has named Andrew Halpern as EP/president of commercial production. Halpern has been consulting with EMA for more than a year. Los Angeles-based Arcade Edit has new sales representation in the U.S. West coast and Texas representation is now being handled by The Department of Sales, headed-up by Dexter Randazzo (pictured, left) and assisted by Irma Rodriguez. Randazzo launched DoS in 2012 following a three-year stint doing in-house sales with Epoch Media Group; she also handles Arts & Sciences, Epoch Films, Farm League and Imperial Woodpecker.
