Ucedo Joins Wing, Mother Hires Groves And More

Wing, the WPP marketing communications agency focused on Hispanic consumers, has hired Favio Ucedo as chief creative officer. Based in New York, Ucedo will be responsible for leading Wing's creative teams for clients including Pantene, Downy, Cover Girl, Olay and DIRECTV. Prior to joining Wing, Ucedo was executive creative director at Grupo Gallegos, where he lead creative for brands such as Comcast, Target, Energizer, CMPB (Got milk?), Tecate, Valvoline and Fruit of the Loom, among others. Ucedo has won "Best of Show" three times at Advertising Age's Hispanic Creative Advertising Awards and has been named "Best Creative Director of the U.S. Hispanic Market" by El Ojo de Iberoamerica four times.
Mother London has hired Matt Groves, Saatchi & Saatchi's director of integration, as its first operations director. Groves' responsibilities include leading all integrated production, transforming the agency's digital capabilities and overseeing London's design practice. Groves joined the SSF group in 2010 as director of integration at Fallon and later moved to Saatchi & Saatchi, ecently overseeing the acquisition and integration of the social and digital agency Outside Line into Saatchi's. Before joining Fallon he was a director of San Francisco based Goodby, Silverstein and Partners, a partner at digital production company unit9, founded digital at McCann London and owned the digital agency 64k.
Bo Hellberg has joined London-based creative agency Brave, together with marketing communications agency Billington Cartmell (BC) as executive creative director. Hellberg has spent the last four years in Paris as a creative director at DDB, Tribal DDB and most recently as Partner of the independent agency Megalo.Prior to that, at Ogilvy London, he was part of the team that developed the first Campaign for Real Beauty for Dove.
DigitasLBi has appointed Jeff Maerov as SVP/group creative director based in Boston. Maerov will lead creative teams on clients including Goodyear, Dunkin' Donuts, and others, and will report to Rob Rizzo, executive creative director, DigitasLBi Boston and Detroit. Maerov joins DigitasLBi with over 18 years of experience across brands including Dr. Pepper/7 UP, Sony, Xerox, Pepperidge Farm Goldfish, Clearasil, and the NFL. His honors have included a nomination at the Emmy Awards. Prior to joining DigitasLBi, Maerov served as group dreative director at DraftFCB Orange County where he oversaw the Taco Bell, Petco, and Smokey Bear accounts. Before that, he held creative director positions at Euro RSCG 4D and Young & Rubicam in New York.
New York based digital agency Firstborn has hired Jonathan Kim as a senior art director. He will lead design and creative efforts for the agency's Content Studio, working alongside Firstborn's VP of content development, Alex Krawitz. Kim joins from LA-based design and production studio, Royale where he held post as senior art director on integrated projects for the likes of Nike, Apple, Disney and Hyundai. Prior to Royale, he freelanced for LA production company Laundry!, for clients VEVO, National Geographic, EA and FOX.
BooneOakley, Charlotte has appointed Jim Mountjoy to be lab director of its newly opened consulting division, EYE. Mountjoy returns to advertising following a sabbatical, during which he earned a Masters in Adult Education and taught college courses in design and concept development. He left his last advertising post in 2009 after 30 years as CD/partner at LKM (formerly "Loeffler Ketchum Mountjoy"), Charlotte.
