W+K/Amsterdam ECD John Norman to become CCO at The Martin Agency

John Norman, the W+K Amsterdam ECD behind much celebrated work for Coca-Cola, Nike, EA Sports and HP, will be returning to the States to become chief creative cfficer at the Martin Agency in Richmond, Virginia. Norman will take his new post in February 2010 and will serve as joint CCO with Mike Hughes for his first year. The entire creative staff will be reporting to Norman. Hughes subsequently plans to remain as president of the agency.
Norman's hire marks The Martin Agency's first top creative officer hire in 28 years. He will bring with him a legacy of award-winning work, including W+K/Amsterdam's Coca-Cola Happiness Factory franchise and Nike's Joga Bonito campaign. Prior to Wieden, Norman made a lasting creative mark at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, where he helped lead the visually groundbreaking +HP campaign, which featured spots like "Francois" and "Picture Book," and "The Next Shift."
A native Texan, Norman began his creative career at Nike in Oregon, where he worked as a graphic designer. He then worked at Benetton in Italy, as a design director and then as a director of the brand's famous Fabrica creative lab.More of Norman's work:
