Having been cast out of the limelight for the past few years, 2K Sports is back to prove EA’s lucrative Madden series isn’t the only coveted football videogame around. Using plenty of promotional gusto courtesy of EVB, 2K is ready to unveil its new All-Pro Football 2K8 via multiple channels, including print, TV, guerrilla and the web. It’s the last component in fact that EVB emphasizes is the hub of the campaign, with a site that aims to highlight hip-hop culture while pleasing gamers and football fanatics.

As part of its “Football Resurrected” promotion, 2K Sports’ online destination includes a series of six, two-minute digital videos (directed by EVB’s Jason Zada), with each featuring different hip-hop luminaries such as Rakim, Jurassic 5’s Chali 2na and Aceyalone spouting rhymes about 2K Sports’ comeback and its new game. The first three are already downloadable on the official site, as well as YouTube, XBOX Live & SonyPlaystation 3 websites. While trolling the dedicated All-Pro landing page, though, fans can also nab screenshots, register for tournaments and forums and watch in-game footage of a game that resurrects pigskin legends like Jerry Rice, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton and more.
