A team of journalist/developer/designers from the likes of Wired and Dwell (Heather Champ, Dylan Fareed, Matthew Honan,Alexis Madrigal, Derek Powazek and Sarah Rich) are banding together on 48 Hour Magazine, an experiment "using new tools to erase media's old limits." The group is going to "write, photograph, illustrate, design, edit, and ship a magazine in two days" and was inspired by the likes of Strange Light, Pop Up Magazine and The Whole Earth Catalog and the tools that have gone into creating them.

On May 7, 48 Hour Magazine will reveal the theme for its first issue, after which contributorsówriters, photographers, illustratrorsó will have 24 hours to produce and submit their work. The following 24 hours will then be devoted to packaging all the material into a website and a glossy magazine, delivered straight to your mailbox. Check back into the site on the 7th, or submit your email now to get a direct alert of the theme once it's unveiled.
