Adobe's Latest Ad Warns of the Perils of a Gamble on the Big Game

Adobe's "Do You Know What Your Marketing Is Doing?" campaign continues with the sorry tale of a client who knows that his Super Bowl ad is a massive, ill-judged gamble.

This time our protagonist is sitting in a dingy bar watching the Big Game, confessing to the lowlife gambler-type guy next to him that he's "in" for four million..and it's not even his money. What's more, in his excitement about the Super Bowl, he's ignored the data. As it is eventually revealed that this gamble is on a Super Bowl ad for cream cheese, the spot in question comes on the TV. We don't have to see it to know that it's a turkey -- we only hear the Caribbean-themed, reggae-style soundtrack singing "Cream cheese from the island!" and it's pretty clear.

The spot was directed by Reset's J.C. Chandor ("Margin Call," "A Most Violent Year") and is part of the ongoing humorous campaign by Goodby, Silverstein & Partners. It will be featured across digital properties aligning with Super Bowl advertising content, and will air on TV during late night talk shows.
