Advanced Nutrients: Pentagram Rebranding

Big bad buds get big bad rebranding.

Editor's Pick

Advanced Nutrients, a company that provides an assortment of good for the hydroponic hobbyist (translation: those who like to grow weed at home) recently got a fantastic, character-driven overhaul from Pentagram and illustrator Marc Burckhardt. The fanciful designs grace the company's fifty-plus products and feature a slate of colorful personalities worthy of their own late night show on Comedy Central. Among them are Big Bud, the mohawk-sporting, purple shades-wearing best seller of the A.N. line, a red-headed cannabis plant named Kushie, a rhino named "Rhonnie" for its Rhino Skin product and Thirstin Howl III, a cigar-smoking bulldog.

The company, which also happens to be a paid consultant for Showtime series "Weeds," originally teamed up with Pentagram Austin partner DJ Stout and associate Julie Savasky on the launch of its "Rosebud" magazine in 2009.

Check out all the images from the rebrand below. Read more about the project on the Pentagram blog.
