Published on Dec 08, 2016 Editor's Pick Aldi's U.K. Christmas campaign, starring "Kevin the Carrot," launched a whole month ago now, but the grocery retailer and agency McCann U.K. are still getting mileage out of the animated vegetable. As well as ongoing social videos that have seen, among other things, Kevin watching the John Lewis ad, the company has now released "casting tapes" from its auditions for the role of the carrot. It turns out that among the contenders was a parsnip masquerading as a carrot, a RADA-trained thespian carrot reduced to doing commercials for cash and a French carrot with a line in Piaf-style numbers.
