Home Gallery Video Aldi Kevin the Carrot Casting Part 1 Aldi Reveals the Casting Tapes for Its 'Kevin the Carrot' Ad Parsnips, French Vegetables and Thespians All Auditioned By Alexandra Jardine. Published on Dec 08, 2016 Editor's Pick Aldi's U.K. Christmas campaign, starring "Kevin the Carrot," launched a whole month ago now, but the grocery retailer and agency McCann U.K. are still getting mileage out of the animated vegetable. As well as ongoing social videos that have seen, among other things, Kevin watching the John Lewis ad, the company has now released "casting tapes" from its auditions for the role of the carrot. It turns out that among the contenders was a parsnip masquerading as a carrot, a RADA-trained thespian carrot reduced to doing commercials for cash and a French carrot with a line in Piaf-style numbers. We're glad Kevin got the role, and wonder what else is in store from Aldi in the run-up to Christmas. Rate this Ad You must be registered to rate the ad.
