Pope Francis Gets Emojified in Time for U.S. Visit

Effort is Part of Catholic Network's 'Good Is Winning' Campaign

2015 has certainly been the year of the Emoji. Back in April, President Obama thanked Japan for them, then Dominos turned emoji into something quite useful by making them vehicles for ordering pizza (an idea that nabbed the Titanium Grand Prix at Cannes) and now today, even the Pope joins the fray with his own set of the cute digital characters.

Global Catholic network aleteia.org partnered with Swyft Media, an agency dedicated to helping "emojifying" brands, to create Popemoji, an emoji keyboard featuring 52 stickers and 14 GIFs of Pope Francis to coincide with his visit to the U.S. on September 22-27. Users can share images of the "Pope of the People" digging into a hotdog, posing next to monuments such as the Statue of Liberty and the Lincoln Memorial and kissing a baby.

The Popemoji are part of Aleteia.org's "Good Is Winning" initiative and are available now for free in the iTunes App Store and on Google Play.
