It's true: you are being watched. Retailers are turning to mannequins with hidden cameras to spy on shoppers--and not just to identify criminals. New EyeSee mannequins, sold by Italian company Almax, also carry facial recognition software for helping retailers to identify its shopper age, gender and race. As Bloomberg News reports, retailers are using the information gleaned to help tailor their offers to cater to their audience and its habits. Brands reportedly using them include Benetton, and the mannequins are now at work in three three European countries and in the U.S., by five companies.
