Hacker Collective Sends Out Rallying Cry to Take Down the Candidate

As it seems increasingly likely that Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee for President, hacker collective Anonymous has re-emerged to take on the billionaire candidate with Operation Trump.

The group's masked spokesperson appears in a new video, announcing:

"Dear Donald Trump, we have been watching you for a long time and what we see is deeply disturbing… Your inconsistent and hateful campaign has not only shocked the United States of America, you have shocked the entire planet with your appalling actions and ideas. You say what your current audience wants to hear but in reality you don't stand for anything except for your personal greed and power. Thiis is a call to arms… to our fellow hacktivists around the world, this is a call to protect our freedom, our future and our very way of life. This is a call to you. We need you to shut down his websites, research and expose what he doesn't want the public to know. We need you to dismantle his campaign and sabotage his brand… This is not a war. This is a declaration of total war. Operation Trump engaged."

The film also cuts together scenes of some of Mr. Trump's "finest moments": when he called Mexicans "rapists," when he mocked disabled New York Times reporter Serge Kovaleski, when he made "blood"-related comments about reporter Megyn Kelly and when he suggested he'd be dating Ivanka Trump if she weren't his daughter.

Trump is no stranger to hacker attacks.

Anonymous previously took responsibility for taking down his website in December following his proposal to ban Muslims from entering the U.S. Last fall, seven of his hotels were subject to a data hack, and in August, others used his corporate site as a platform to say farewell to Jon Stewart -- and celebrate "America's first openly Asshole Presidential Candidate."

Given how far the teflon candidate has come since then, we're not sure if Anonymous' latest mission will accomplish anything more than re-energizing Trump's own troops. But it does seem the anti-Trump forces are rallying too. A Republican group also just released this video of women reading Trump's harsh quotes about women.
