14 Spots Highlight Different Apple Products

Apple is marking Global Accessibility Awareness Day with a series of 14 online films featuring people with different disabilities using its products.

One spot, seen here, focuses on Carlos Vasquez, the lead singer, drummer, and PR manager for the metal band Distartica, who lost his eyesight to glaucoma when he was a child in Guatemala. Now in Houston, Vasquez uses VoiceOver with Screen Curtain on his iPhone to capture band photos, hail a ride to practice, and spread the word about Distartica.

Others featured inlcude Ian Mackay, who is paralyzed from the neck down but continues to explore his passion for cycling through the use of his power chair and using Siri; 15-year-old Meera Phillips, who suffers from Schizencephaly, which impacts motor control and speech, and uses TouchChat on her iPad; quadriplegic Todd Stabelfeldt, who runs a business using his iPhone and Shane Rakowski, a school band director who wears a pair of Made for iPhone hearing aids.

Last fall, Apple promoted the accessiblity of its products in a film that debuted during the brand's keynote, which was edited by a woman with cerebral palsy, Sady Paulson.
