Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon Star (Sort of) in This Dorky New iPhone Ad

You Won't See Them, But You Can Hear Them

Editor's Pick

Everything about the look of this new ad for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus -- stark white background, heavenly lighting, quick cuts of the products in use -- is entirely familiar. But the sound of it is something else. Instead of the usual sort of twee instrumental tune Apple tends to use in its spots, we hear two male voices hum-singing the theme from "2001: A Space Odyssey." A collaboration between TBWA/Media Arts Lab and Apple's in-house agency, the spot cleverly never mentions that those disembodied voices belong to none other than Jimmy Fallon and his pal Justin Timberlake. (Now, of course, we're wondering how much Fallon & Timberlake command for a 30-second concert.)
