Apple is updating the visual identity for Apple Music--a pair of musical notes -- with hundreds of different variations on the design, based on different artists and types of music.

The newly designed notes aims to connect music fans to what's next in music, artist news, and culture and will be featured in outdoor and digital ads as well as a colorful 30 second film, seen here, which goes live today showcasing 41 different designs and some of the artists and music genres that inspired them, including the likes of Bob Dylan and Eminem.

When you click on a note on social or digital media, it will take you to more content about that artist: for example, one of the first, a note designed for Sam Smith, leads to a first look at a documentary about the British singer, with his album release and a live stream of a concert in London also taking place his Friday.
