For this year's New York City Marathon, ASICS teamed with Vitro to create this interactive outdoor effort that brought friends and family's messages of encouragement to the runners. Reminiscent of Nike Livestrong's Chalkbot campaign, sans robot, loved ones could upload their video, image or text messages on a special site or at special booths during race week. Competitors, who were outfitted with special RFID tags, would then trigger the messages to play on giant LED screens they passed along the route.
