ASOS' Reply to a Customer's Rap-Style Complaint Has Gone Viral

Fashion Brand Replied to a Customer Post Styled on Eminem's 'Stan'

Sometimes a brand really rises to the occasion on social media, and the result is a viral hit. That's happened to U.K. fashion retailer ASOS this week, and it was all the result of a customer complaint.

The customer, DJ Jay Whalley, wrote to ASOS about a returned item of clothing, and decided to get creative. Instead of a normal letter, he crafted a rap, based on Eminem's "Stan," about his FCUK jacket, and sent it via Facebook. The lyrics start off: "I sent you my exchange but still it ain't returning/I left my size, product code and order number at the bottom/ I sent a FCUK blazer back in July, you must not-a got 'em/There probably was a problem at the DPD office or somethin' " and carry on in the same vein.

When a member of ASOS' customer care team named Rianna replied in exactly the same style, Whalley posted it on his Facebook page. Her reply starts: "Yo Jay, what's happenin'? Soz to hear you haven't received your return/Hope it's not giving you heartburn/If you pop us a PM/We'll get to the bottom of this mayhem."

Whalley's original letter has over 900 likes so far on Facebook, while the ASOS reply has over 100. What's more the story has gone viral, appearing in the likes of The Sun and Daily Mail.
