Audi used the Emmys to promote its A3 Sportback e-tron plug-in hybrid with a commercial demonstrating how the car's sporty looks belie its eco-credentials.
In an ad directed by MJZ's Craig Gillespie for Venables Bell & Partners, we see the car disrupt a peaceful, eco-friendly neighborhood where locals bicycle along with organic veg, install solar panels and tend to their Priuses. As the Audi hybrid roars up and reverses into a the driveway of a styish modern house, everyone turns and looks disapprovingly. But the tables are turned as the owner slides back the four rings logo to reveal its electric plug.
The ad broke alongside Audi's other Emmys spot featuring Miss Piggy and Kermit, by PMK. BMC, which also promotes the hybrid car.
