Ballantine's Whisky, which has been quite the patron of digital innovation lately, has created an installation for airport terminals that makes a creatively-interesting image of the user with Kinect. Created by Work Club, the Leave An Impression (LAI) installation consists of a 2.5 m high pod, powered by Microsoft Kinect, with three screens, infrared and digital cameras and photo imaging software. The installation reads the traveler's body; their clothing colour, their motion, their proximity, and creates an algorithmically generated reflection that they can manipulate through motion. Their impression is uploaded to an LAI gallery and they can publish their profile socially from there. Currently running in Amsterdam's Schipol airport, the project is expected to be rolled out to other airport terminals.
