The "joy" that Christmas brings.

Why, oh, why are British Christmas ads so good? Last week, we were treated to retailer John Lewis' frosty love story, out of Adam & Eve, and now, supermarket chain Morrisons combines reality and surreality brilliantly in this spot, created out of DLKW Lowe.

The commercial features the "realness" of Christmas -- the endless traipsing of guests throughout your home, the flawed tree and the struggle of cooking the turkey -- but dramatizes those moments in a gorgeously dreamlike (or nightmarish) way. The stream of visitors is shown as a block-long line of people outside the front door, and in one particularly memorable shot, the mom, played by actress Jo Hartley (This Is England) literally wrestles a fiesty turkey.

The spot is a move away from previous celebrity-driven campaigns by the chain, and was directed by Academy's Si & Ad.
