Beck's bottle meets Edison's phonograph

Published on

Editor's Pick

In New Zealand, Beck’s has combined its bottle with a device based on Thomas Edison’s phonograph to create what's claimed to be the world's first music-playing beer bottle.  The new single from NZ band Ghost Wave was inscribed into the surface of a the bottle, which is then "played" on a specially-built device based on Edison’s original cylindrical phonograph. FX and modelmaking company gyro designed the device (part of the brand's Beck’s Record Label music-related project) working with agency Shine.
