BMW Creates a Car Flashmob on the Streets of Cape Town

Professional Stunt Drivers and Hollywood Director Pull Off Amazing Stunt

Editor's Pick

Flashmobs are almost commonplace now, but BMW surprised Cape Town dwellers with a different kind of mob stunt this month -- one that involved cars. The so-called "Driftmob" featured five BMW M235i coupes driven by professional stunt drivers, under the guidance of Hollywood director Mic Rodgers, who worked on films such as "The Fast and the Furious".

The cars raced and roared around a traffic circle in the city center in an amazing sequence, apparently astounding the crowds. While it looks kind of dangerous, the agency behind the project, Germany's Interone, assures us it was perfectly safe -- you can watch a behind-the-scenes video to see how it was done).
