Editor's Pick

BMW is putting its BMW Art Car Collection online for the first time within a virtual video tour on a new website.

The site contains an extensive virtual overview of the origin, history and development of the collection, which began in 1975 and includes racing car designs by artists such as Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Alexander Calder, Frank Stella, A.R. Penck, David Hockney and Jeff Koons. The initial idea for the collection, to have a car designed by an artist, was conceived by the French auctioneer and racing car driver Herve Poulain. Each work of art has a film devoted to it, and viewers can also see historic racing footage and artists' statements.
