Boots has opted to feature real-life working women in its Christmas ad campaign in this year, with a spot that highlights the half a million U.K. women that have to work over the holidays.

The retailer's campaign, by Mother London, invited 45 women in jobs including paramedics, farmers, nurses, midwives, carers, police women and volunteers to take part in a day of pampering, with each treated to a full makeover experience by an expert team of Boots beauty advisors. The day culminated in a "reveal" to the women's friends and family.

The spot, which features a new cover of "Everybody's Free to Feel Good" by Kylie Minogue, will be accompanied by print ads featuring some of the women.
