Bruketa & Zinic's Lilliputian Label Makes a Big Point

Croatian design agency Bruketa & Zinic is known for its remarkable ideas, which in the past have included an annual report whose size belied its weight, another that evolved the longer a reader held it in his hands and a wine label that invited artistic expression.

The company has conceived another inventive design for the latter category. Created for Brac wines, the lilliputian "Label for the Frugal Man" looks more like a price tag than the typical bottle sticker.

It takes its inspiration from Brac, the Croatian isle on which the wines are made. There, the folks are known for being a bit "stingy" because the island's soil is poor and arid, encouraging its residents to be frugal with their resources.

According to Bruketa & Zinic, "Their labels just might be the smallest in the world. But they believe that big wines do not need big labels."

The tag then goes on to read: "Brac Wines: Poor in soil, generous in spirit."
