EscapeFlight is an online solution for travelers with a weekend to spare who don't know where to go. The site, which will customize destination, activities and travel plans down to the tiniest detail, has been created by production company B-Reel.
Although the site will compete with established brands such as lastminute.com, according to B-Reel, it is designed not to overwhelm users with data. Instead it returns no more than ten getaway suggestions (consisting of last-minute travel deals from after work Friday to Sunday), all of them tailored to the user's declared personal interests, location, and preferences. It also includes the weather forecast for different locations, to make sure users don't pick a rainy weekend. "We have chosen a very visual approach where we focus on specific experiences and beautiful curated destinations instead of overwhelming you with confusing options," says B-Reel's Riccardo Giraldi.
The program will run only out of London for its first three months, but B-Reel plans to add other international cities. EscapeFlight is one of the first ventures out of B-Reel Products, a new division of the production company set up to develop its own businesses.
