Too lazy to go out for a beer--let alone a night on the town? Anheuser-Busch's Bud Light promises to bring you your brew, and then some, with the Bud Light Button app. Created out of its digital innovation agency AKQA, the new app, available on Android and soon for iOS, allows users to order from 1 to 100 cases of beer with a simple tap and a scan of their credit card. The beer will then be at their door in less than an hour, with the help of alcohol delivery app Klink.
The one-click digital delivery idea's been done before, for example, with pizza, but what makes this idea different is that along with the beer, A-B will be sending some app users additional goodies, even entire experiences. "Some people will get just a little something extra, like Bud Light-branded gear, but once in a while, we're going to deliver a really over-the-top, amazing experiences," said Lucas Herscovici, Anheuser-Busch vice president of consumer connections in a statement. "Maybe that means we show up with a DJ who turns your gathering of friends into an amazing event."
The program launched this week in Washington, D.C. and will run for a pilot phase of 90 days.
