These Band Members Become Body Parts to Tell You About Your Health

U.K.'s BUPA Wants to Encourage Health Check-Ups

Editor's Pick

Most people have a rough idea whether the decisions they're making are healthy enough. But here's a fun online quiz/music video that actually reflects them.

U.K. private healthcare company BUPA has created the video, which plays different personalized versions according to questions people answer about their health. Each of the band members of The Futureheads represents a part of the body -- the guitarist is the liver, the drummer the heart, the bassist the bones and the lead singer the lungs. Participants answer four (admittedly fairly basic) health-related questions: about their diet, whether they smoke, drink and take exercise.

However, here comes the exciting part: their responses will impact upon the band's performance in a variety of unexpected ways, making it better or much, much worse. Among the surprises are guitars turning into dogs, microphones bursting into flames and collapsing drum kits. Altogether, there are 54 individually-crafted music videos, all directed by music video specialist Rob Brandon.

Agency WCRS created the video, to raise awareness of a new scheme of health assessments that BUPA is offering. It's aimed at a young audience of twenty to thirtysomethings, who don't necessarily think about the effects of their day-to-day behavior on their health, encouraging them to get a check-up with BUPA.
