Romeo Beckham, son of David and Victoria, is the cute-as-a-button child star of Burberry's Christmas campaign, titled "From London with Love." Clad in the fashion house's iconic trench coat and check scarf, Beckham Jr. plays cupid to a young couple, by way of a beautifully choreographed dance routine evoking the streets of London. Dancers with newspapers, bags and umbrellas join Beefeaters and helmeted policemen in a mini-musical set to a heartwarming original soundtrack ("The Way That I Live," by Ed Harcourt, which will shortly be released on iTunes). Christopher Bailey, Burberry's CEO and chief creative officer at Burberry, directed the film.
With the U.K. media eagerly awaiting the Christmas campaigns of John Lewis, Marks & Spencer et al, Burberry has set the bar high. It's magical, compelling -- Romeo seems to have inherited his parents' star quality -- and totally on-brand. We have only one question: Which parent is getting the Burberry gift box in Romeo's hand?
