Editor's Pick

There are plenty who would say Death Row is no laughing matter. But Burger King dares to go there in a new spot out of Buzzman, Paris that illustrates the lengths people will go to for a Whopper.

The ad is set in a prison as we see a covered dish with a prisoner's final meal wheeled down a corridor of cells to where guards are assembling an electric chair. The prisoner, looking suitably like a hardened criminal, opens the lid to reveal a Whopper and fries. One of the guards looks longingly at the meal.

Next, we see the guard locking the cell and walking out of the prison, captured on CCTV in his uniform and cap, while the prisoner is apparently relishing his burger. But the final scenes reveal the prisoner driving away laughing, while the guard chows down on the Whopper.

Directed by Ivan Grbovic at Wanda, the ad is airing online and on French TV from Jan. 16.
