Burger King's latest example of nimble marketing? A prom invite.
A BK restaurant in Lynn, Massachusetts happens to be sitting right next to a Wendy's. So the fast feeder took advantage of their neighborly placement to ask its competitor to the big high school dance using the interchangeable letters on its drive-thru sign.
Soon after, Wendy's came back with a witty and demure "I do" on Twitter.
The outdoor idea--clearly one meant to go gain traction on social--was created out of MullenLowe Boston. Of course, this isn't the first time Burger King has played off its competitors. Most notably, there was its offer to McDonald's to create a McWhopper in celebration of Peace Day, which eventually became the Cannes Grand Prix-winning "Peace Burger" after the Golden Arches declined to participate.
