Last year, Burt's Bees and Baldwin& erected a billboard featuring a woman with dry flaky skin, who saw a miraculous transformation after passersby pulled off coupons from which the image was composed. The advertiser wanted to continue promoting its message of hydration, and its support of the environment so has now put the retired billboard to use at the Durham School of the Arts. There, the school's Urban Gardening program has transformed the 11'x6' billboard's vinyl sheeting into a prototype for a rain catching system that allows urban farmers to recycle up to 6300 gallons of rainwater a year to water their crops.
