Cafe Amazon, a chain of rest stop coffee shops in Thailand, developed an app that wakes up sleepy drivers by detecting the fact that they're falling asleep at the wheel. Drivers place their phone with the "Drive Awake" app in a place where the camera can see their face, and the app (developed by BBDO Proximity Thailand) uses eye and face tracking technology to spot sleepiness, waking them up with an alarm whenever they start to doze off. It then gives directions to the nearest Cafe Amazon, encouraging them to take a coffee break.
