There's a Special Academy for All Those Hollywood Cliches

Canadian Film Fest Has Fun With Some Movie Regulars

Published on

Editor's Pick

The Canadian Film Fest has fun with some of Hollywood's biggest cliches in this film from J. Walter Thompson Canada. It imagines an "Academy of Cliche" where "everything we teach has been done a million times before," and a cigar-smoking director who makes sure no baddie can shoot straight, couples always split up, boy chases girl at the airport and bad guys only attack the hero one at a time. Of course, the Film Fest is encouraging us to "Escape the Cliche" with its own offerings. Jono Hunter of OPC was the (real) director.
