Canon: The Story Behind the Still

Pulitzer Prize-winning director/photographer Vincent LaForet has teamed with Canon to encourage consumers to build out a film-driven story from the seed of a single snapshot. Launching today at CES, the contest, housed on Vimeo, is part of Grey's "Beyond the Still" Campaign, which promotes Canon's new DSLR line that can take both stills and HD video. It kicks off with a LaForet-directed short film, The Cabbie, inspired by a single still. That short ends with another still meant to inspire the subsequent seven chapters of the story created by other fillmmakers, who will be able to submit their own interpretations starting on January 15.
