A Real-Life Car Accident Made It Into Insurance Company's Funny Ad

Spot Marks Central Beheer's 30th Year of the 'Just Call Us' Campaign

Dutch insurer Centraal Beheer is back with another funny mishap, this time created specially to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its ongoing "Just Call Us" campaign.

The new film focuses on a successful young rapper who's over-excitedly showing off his shiny brand new ride to his friends. They're most impressed by its Personal Voice Control feature; it'll start the car, open the roof, doors and so forth responding to the sound of your voice. The rapper and his crew drive about town and stop at a friend's place to party. His latest hit starts to play on the radio, so things start to get fun -- and then go massively wrong -- when the car starts to respond to the song's lyrics, which include phrases like "start," "close the top" and "release the brakes."

The ad is the 59th film in the well-known series created by DDB & Tribal Worldwide, Amsterdam for the insurance company -- and the agency confesses that, during the shoot, it had its own "Just Call Us" moment. "The car you see in the film actually accidentally hit other cars while shooting for the commercial," said Dylan de Backer, Executive Creative Director at DDB & Tribal Amsterdam, in a statement. "The positive side is that the unintended accident even made the actual film."
