Badass Kristen Stewart Punches a Giant Diamond Right in the Face for Chanel!

It's Unclear What the Diamond Did to Her

Chanel wants you to know that Kristen Stewart is a badass. Sure, she may have been jerked around by pouty, sadsack vampires in all those "Twilight" movies, but these days she's the fearless face of Chanel's Gabrielle fragrance and, as shown in the brand's latest short film, directed by Ringan Ledwidge, nothing's gonna hold her back!

Over the course of a minute (in the online film, shown here, or 30 seconds, in the TV cut that started airing Tuesday), Stewart wakes to find herself trapped in a gauze prison, which seems terribly clautrophobia-inducing. Fortunately, it's not at all structurally sound, and she's able to tear her way out of it, allowing her to run, in slow motion, as scraps of gauze cling to her. But she frees herself from some of those bits of gauze too! And then, naturally, she runs through a field of showering sparks and fireworks!

The Naughty Boy song "Runnin' (Lose It All)" serves as the soundtrack and helpfully narrates what we're seeing:

Runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin'
Runnin', runnin', runnin'
Ain't runnin' from myself no more

What more could you want from a fragrance ad? Well, how about this? Kristen Stewart, now entirely free of gauze and seemingly fully naked (it's hard to tell for sure thanks to the lighting and camera angles), takes a flying leap toward a wall made of giant diamonds (or maybe they're just acrylic boxes -- again, hard to tell) and punches one of them right in the face!

Take that, diamond (or whatever)!
