Channel 4's acquisition of "The Great British Bake Off," one of the U.K.'s top-rated TV shows, was not without controversy -- three out of the four hosts left as a result, and fans remain skeptical about new hosts including surreal comedian Noel Fielding.

The broadcaster has a lot of work to do to win the viewing public over to its new version -- and with the first trailer to be revealed for the show, a delightful animated film by 4Creative that features a plethora of singing, animated baked products, it's bound to please some.

The stop-motion film sees everything from raw ingredients -- flour, eggs and dough -- to croissants, cakes, loaves and tarts opening tiny mouths and singing along to the Paul McCartney song, "We All Stand Together." It features 335 baked characters, created using 500 eggs, 28kg of sugar and 50 kg of flour, and includes some surreal moments with some "characters" vomiting jam and cream out of their mouths.

The campaign was commissioned by Channel 4 Marketing, written by 4Creative and directed by Parabella through Blinkink. It debuted during the Women's Euro 2017 soccer semi-final.

Not everyone liked the animated food however: the Mail Online reports that the nation was "divided" over the singing pastries while the Evening Standard reported that some fans found the trailer "creepy."
