Kate Moss Stars in Charlotte Tilbury's Virtual Reality Fragrance Ad

Antoine Wagner Directs 360 Degree Experience for 'Scent of a Dream'

Is this the future of fragrance advertising? Makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury launches her first fragrance Scent of a Dream this week with a virtual reality film starring Kate Moss. While Moss is a veteran of cosmetics and fashion ads, this is apparently the first time the supermodel has appeared in a VR experience.

The experience was created in conjunction with global content production studio and VR specialists Happy Finish and film director Antoine Wagner. It was shot using the new professional virtual reality camera, the Nokia Ozo, and was made on the same set as the main Scent of a Dream ad, released earlier this week, which sees Moss dancing wildly as the center of attention as a party. In the virtual reality version, Moss appears releasing the fragrance into what looks like outer space, ad the viewer is transported through galaxies and constellations to the party, to be confronted by Moss's handsome lover in the film, played by Canadian actor Nathan Mitchell.

The film can be viewed on virtual reality headsets including Samsung Gear and Google Cardboard, while mobile and desktop users can access a bespoke version of the experience via the Facebook and YouTube apps. Consumers will also be able to interact with the experience in store via bespoke Scent of a Dream VR pods, exclusively in select Nordstrom stores September 1, with more rolling out across the U.S. later in September.
