Kevin Nealon Is Captain Telstar, Leader of an Antiquated Satellite TV Station

This Is Why That Service Is So Sketchy

Editor's Pick

SNL's 40th anniversary earlier this year seemed to have put its various alumni back into orbit of late. Previously, State Farm resurrected the Coneheads and Hans and Franz for recent spots. And now Kevin Nealon (aka Franz) takes on another silly role, that of space captain Telstar in a funny new campaign for Charter Spectrum, via Pereira & O'Dell New York.

Mr. Nealon's Teslar is the leader of a troupe of earthly expats who are now manning an antiquated Satellite TV space station that delivers sketch service to tube watchers below. Perhaps that's because their solutions to tech snafus involve putting customers on hold (with very special music), and sophisticated technical maneuvers like "off and on" and "keyboard strumming."
