Chevy Features Gay Couple in Olympics Ads

Spots Created by Commonwealth focus on 'The New'

Editor's Pick

NBC's coverage of the Winter Olympics this year will feature eight new television spots from Chevrolet, in spots created by Commonwealth. The spots, some of which aired during the opening ceremonies, feature real families, which were

found through social media and outreach. The idea is to focus on "What's new," and one of the spots shows gay dads standing with their kids, while another features a gay couple celebrating their wedding. There's also a glimpse of gay scientist Jack Andraka (who was prominently featured in an Intel ad recently as well).

Chevy will also be connecting with customers on social media via "What's #TheNew to you," asking people what is really new to them, a theme that links to the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline.
