GM Debuts Silverado Campaign with a Woman in the Driving Seat

A Woman, Her Horse, and the Open Road

Editor's Pick

Leo Burnett bows the first work from Chevy's new Silverado campaign, "A Man and His Truck" by recognizing that pickup truck owners don't always have to be big, burly men -- they can be strong, plucky women, too.

"Her Horse," directed by Frederic Planchon at Anonymous Content, features a woman who is decidedly not girly at all, not least because she travels around towing her enormous horse around, from rodeo to rodeo, every time seeking ribbons that won't go in her hair, but on the wall.

As the agency says, the story is one that could have easily featured a man. The fact that it doesn't is what makes it all the more powerful. The brand will roll out two more spots in early August.
