What Happens When You Put Ice in a Wind Tunnel?

Chivas Gets Creative With Ice to Promote its Upscale 'Ice Drop'

Editor's Pick

If you think ice in a drink is just about cubes, think again. To promote premium sub-brand Chivas18, Chivas Regal has created an "ice press" for select upscale bars; the press produces a special Chivas18-branded "ice drop." The concept was dreamed up with Italian design house Pininfarina, which specializes in luxury car concepts. To promote the partnership, Chivas and agency AnalogFolk created this online film in which a block of ice is taken to Pininfarina's own wind tunnel (usually used to test the aerodynamics of car designs) in Torino, Italy. Blasted air transforms the ice into a sleek droplet shape. It's all strangely mesmerizing.
