After Brief Hiatus, Marketer Debuts Latest Tag Team Musical Effort

Editor's Pick

Converse returns with a new "Three Artists, One Song" effort, "Hero," starring the unlikely mashup of The Clash's Mick Jones and Paul Simonon, Frank Ocean and producer Diplo. The track has a mellow, breezy vibe that makes those of us living in harsher, winter climates long for the summer. The marketer revealed the new song at an event at its Rubber Tracks studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn last week and released the single, free to its fans on Tumblr today. Scenes from the production can be seen above and in a behind the scenes video.

Since 2008, the marketer has brought together teams of unlikely musical collaborators together for the initiative. It launched with My Drive Thru, which featured Pharrell, Julian Casablancas and Santigold. It later followed with other collaborations inluding Matt & Kim, Andrew W.K. and Soulja Boy, as well as Gorillaz' Damon Albarn, LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy and Soulja Boy. The last effort, "Warrior," featured Mark Foster of Foster The People, Kimbra and DJ A-Trak, dropped in 2012. "Hero" marks the return of the iniative after a two-year hiatus.
