Cravendale: Catnapped

What happened to all the milkmen?

Published on Sep 10, 2012

Editor's Pick

Bertram Thumbcat and his feline army, armed with the power of opposable thumbs, are back for part two of their plan for world domination, in Wieden & Kennedy London's latest spot for Cravendale. Directed by Partizan's Traktor, the 40-second commercial reveals that the kitty army has hit Great Britain right where it hurts, by kidnapping the milkmen, so integral to the flow of everyday life. While nowhere as brilliant as "Cats With Thumbs," which Creativity also ranked as #7 in our favorite TV work of 2011, the spot is still, as expected, hilarious.

The campaign includes a Facebook app that lets you "disguise" the photos of your own cat and sign him up as one of Thumbcat's recruits -- that is, if he isn't already. A short teaser introducing the plot, as well as the hashtag #catswiththumbs premiered online last week. In the last week of September, Cravendale will also release "Epic Straws," which are actually milk-stealing instruments developed by Thumbcat and his pals.
