Canadian Guys Get A Painful Waxing For Testicular Cancer Awareness

Campaign Is The Latest Attempt To Shock Young Men Into Awareness

Published on Apr 02, 2014

Editor's Pick

In the latest risque attempt to raise awareness of testicular cancer, Testicular Cancer Canada has pulled off what appears to be an eye-wateringly painful stunt. They invited 20 men to come and get their testicles waxed, and filmed their facial expressions as they underwent the procedure. The resulting video, created via a collaboration between Canadian production house Crush and BBDO Toronto, is the latest in a series of attempts by organizations to grab the attention of young men who aren't aware that they need to check their testicles regularly, by are tending towards shock/humorous tactics. Previous examples have included Male Cancer Awareness in the UK persuading U.K. celebrities to "go commando" and wear no pants and Orchid, which developed a Christmas tree ornament in the shape of balls.
