Some big names are behind The Goon, a Kickstarter project to turn the comic series by Eric Powell into a feature film. David Fincher, Blur Studio and Dark Horse Entertainment introduce the project in a mildly funny announcement video that asks for your donations.

The 12-year-old comic book was optioned by Mr. Fincher and Blur Studio, and developed a feature film script, written by Mr. Powell. The movie hasn't been green-lit yet, mostly because of its PG13 animation concept, which studios aren't entirely comfortable with. The film will be co-directed by Blur Studio co-founder Tim Miller, who worked on the highly lauded opening sequence for "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," and Jeff Fowler, a director at Blur who worked on the Gopher Broke short.
